Position Summary: Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Recreation Therapy program designed to meet the physical, social, cultural and recreational needs of patients. May be required to work weekends for certain activities. Must be 21 years of age to work with youth.

Requirements: Bachelors' degree in recreational therapy with State of Utah Licensure and National certification (e.g., TRS, CTRS). Reading and writing level that can be clearly expressed and understood in regards to complex concepts, assessments, directions, and processes of sequence of events; acceptable oral and written communication skills; ability to maintain information as highly confidential; telephone etiquette and customer service skills done face-to-face are expected in dealing with the public, customers and other staff; familiarity with medical/psychological terminology, human behavior, and principles of psychology; skills in prioritizing and managing time, problem-solving, social skills (e.g. respect/empathy for staff and customers), clinical evaluations, decision-making, and working amongst distractions; must be able to consistently meet reasonable deadlines regardless of work load; willing to work flexible hours which includes traveling and overnight events; must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations; must be able to work independently with little supervision and multiple demands. Other preferred certifications are: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer (CPRFPR), Lifeguard certification, River Guide II certification, knowledge of Rappelling, Rock Climbing, Ropes Course and belay systems, and valid Utah drivers license.

Center for Change is seeking a full-time Recreation & Experiential Therapies Director to collaborate with the Center's multidisciplinary treatment team to promote in our patients the development of a healthy leisure lifestyle, self-empowerment, and self-discovery through expressive arts, leisure education and counseling, and recreation participation.

The Center's Philosophy: The Center's philosophy on treating eating disorders focuses on providing patients with experiential activities designed to facilitate exploration of emotions, body satisfaction, healthy coping strategies, and expand their sense of self through meaningful recreation therapy experiences.

Responsibilities: - Conduct Expressive Therapy Assessment for new admits - Organize, supervise and coordinate all recreation and experiential activities at the Center - Develop and implement individual goal-directed action plans for each patient designed to meet objectives established in the assessment and treatment plan - Facilitate patients in processing expressive art therapy groups - Organize and lead safe therapeutic wilderness experiences - Supervise Recreation Therapists - Supervise experiential therapists including: Music Therapists, Nia Instructors, and Yoga Instructors

To qualify to drive company vehicles Recreation Therapists must consent to a driving record check, and must: be at least 20 years of age; have a valid driver license; have no more than 2 at-fault accidents in the past three (3) years; have no more than 3 moving violations during the past three (3) years; and, have no driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving under the influence (DUI) convictions. - Current Wilderness First Response Certification preferred -Current Life Guard Certification preferred
