Center For Change: Full-time Recreation Therapist
The Center is seeking a Full-time Recreation Therapist to collaborate with the Center's multidisciplinary treatment team in providing leisure-skill building, service learning, and outdoor leisure education experiences to patients.
The Center's Philosophy:
The Center's philosophy on treating eating disorders focuses on providing patients with opportunities to explore feelings and expand their sense of self through meaningful recreation therapy experiences.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement recreation therapy interventions including leisure-skill building, outdoor leisure education, service learning, and ropes and challenge courses; transport patients to and from off-campus activities; process experiences and report outcomes in progress notes.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy; Current National CTRS certification and TRS Licensure in the State of Utah: Recreation Therapists are required to transport patients using company vehicles. To qualify to drive company vehicles Recreation Therapists must consent to a driving record check, and must: be at least 20 years of age; have a valid driver license; have no more than 2 at-fault accidents in the past three (3) years; have no more than 3 moving violations during the past three (3) years; and, have no driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving under the influcence (DUI) convictions.

Children’s Camp Coordinator
General Responsibilities To serve and support Children’s to manage, plan, direct, and supervise identified camps that are partnerships with Children’s and Camp Twin Lakes. To help create and implement new programs to reach more children, adults and families throughout the state and region and throughout the year. Ensure that all campers and volunteers have a safe, positive and meaningful camp experience that focuses on the mission of Camp Twin Lakes. Position is based in Atlanta, Georgia at Children’s with some need to be at The CTL Atlanta office for planning meetings and to be at CTL camps in residence during any of the camps that they are working with.
Specific Responsibilities:
- 1.To efficiently meet the needs of the Children’s in order to provide a positive and meaningful camp experience.
- 2.Seek and build relationships with service line representatives at CHOA with the goal of developing and managing camping programs.
- 3.Explore areas for more outreach to serve more children in each of the defined service line and camp programs. Currently: Camp Courage, Epilepsy Camp, Amputee Camp, Spina Bifida Camp, Obesity/Wellness Camp
- 4.Be a resource and advocate for other CTL Partners (including, sharing information regarding medical staffing needs, camper opportunities and volunteer opportunities)
- 5.Assist in recruiting campers from different service lines to inform of opportunities shared between Children’s and Camp Twin Lakes.
- 6.Help develop and carry out a system for recruiting and training volunteers for all Camp programs.
- 7.Work closely with the medical teams in each service line to ensure that proper medical staff are in place for the camp session and that efficient procedures are in place to manage the campers’ medications.
- 8. Plan and Carry out pre-camp volunteer training.
- 9. Coordinate any and all transportation needs for Camp programs.
- 10.Coordination and maintain all camper and staff applications, medical forms, releases and background checks.
- 11.Plan all aspects of the camp programs with input from service line representatives and Camp Twin Lakes Manager of New Partner Outreach and the Program Manager of Camp Twin Lakes
- 12.Be the on-site camp director or associate director for all assigned camp programs
- 13.Evaluate all programs, staff, and systems on an ongoing basis for total quality improvement.
- 14.Other duties as determined necessary.

Recreational Therapist-New Haven
New Haven is a residential treatment center for adolescent girls and their families. We are family focused, clinically sophisticated and values based. Our philosophy is based upon principles of Family, Love, Locus of Control, Selflessness, Values and Spirituality. We have 64 beds, which are split between two campuses; one in Spanish Fork, UT and the other in Saratoga Springs, UT.
Recreational Therapists provide 4-6 weekly RT sessions and 2 general groups as needed. Keep progress notes in a timely professional manner. Attend and participate in weekly treatment team meetings. Complete the RT section of each master treatment plan for each student. Plan, assist and/or lead company ceremonies. Plan and implement 1-2 long Saturdays a month. Assist with activities during family weekend at both campuses. Other duties as assigned.
National RT Certification and Utah State TRS are required along with a Bachelors Degree in Recreational Management. Understanding of laws regarding documentation, reporting and confidentiality is essential. Applicant must have skills in discernment, therapeutic theory and intervention, communicating concepts and expectations. Must also, be able to plan and implement RT sessions. It is vital to hold appropriate boundaries with students and parents and to assess and interpret student behavior.
