Work Schedule
Primarily Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are 11:00am - 7:00pm, Wednesday and Saturday schedules are variable based on business needs
Salary Range
$21.00 per hr AND UP + PLUS additional $$ rate ($1.60 - $5.00) for evenings & weekend hours. Base pay based on education, certification and experience.
Qualifications
Utah licensure (or eligible) as a Certified Recreational Therapist
Experience with youth preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Do you enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts and other recreational activities? The Utah State Hospital is looking for a compassionate, energetic person to fill our Recreational Therapist position. Join our staff who are dedicated to maintaining the physical, social and emotional well-being of the individuals that reside at our facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be licensed as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) or Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS) with the UTAH Division of Occupational Professional Licensing (DOPL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Has professional work experience in a direct patient care setting for mentally ill patients or clients.
Is enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to try things they haven't done before.
Has experience working with the intellectually disabled population\has a good foundation of knowledge on how to write programs and goals for those with recreational needs.
Has credentials of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
Principle Duties:
Preparing and performing recreational therapy assessments.
Implementing recreational therapy activities and programs.
Functionally supervise and train staff to assist with recreational activities.
Maintaining records to comply with federal requirements.
Writing reports indicative of progress or regression of the individuals.
Adapting program(s) to meet specific needs or concerns.
Assess activity needs such as staffing, training, security, etc.
Monitoring cases to ensure that treatment plans are being followed.
Discussing results, findings and/or recommendations with appropriate parties.
Acting as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings and gives input as to needs of clients.
Responsibilities:
Licensure as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Utah.
Follows all practices and requirements of the Recreational Therapy Practice Act and the Recreational Therapy Practice Rule.
Identify developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities.
Evaluate treatment effectiveness.
Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally.
Oversee the appropriate use of equipment and facilities.
Maintain and/or repair tools and equipment.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing group and individual recreation interventions to patients in skilled nursing homes or assisted living settings.

Bella Terra Skilled Nursing and Rehab is seeking a motivated and creative Recreational Therapist/Technician to join our amazing team! Bella Terra Skilled Nursing and Rehab is a 180-bed Skilled Nursing Facility nestled in the beautiful red-rock mountains of St. George, UT, just minutes from several National Parks and tourist attractions. We offer Community Dining options, a secure Memory Care unit, and an open Rehabilitative Gym where restorative therapies are practiced. There are also several outdoor patios accessible from various areas of the facility. Bella Terra accepts Short-Term Rehab and Long-Term Care Residents. We offer private and shared options for rooming.
Responsibilities
The Recreational Therapist/Technician (CTRS/TRT) works under the supervision of the Recreational Therapy Director (CTRS), to meet the needs of residents in the facility.
The Recreational Therapist/Technician assists the Director in implementing the APIED process with residents in the facility. T
hey work to meet the residents’ emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and social needs, as identified in their plan of care. This will be accomplished through a variety of means, including but not limited to involvement in inter-disciplinary team meetings for planning of care, 1:1 interventions, small resident groups, large social gatherings (such as for holidays), outings into the community, and walks around the facility grounds.
The Recreational Therapist/Technician will be responsible for assisting where needed in Assessing assigned residents’ needs, Planning a person-centered program of care, Implementing goal-focused interventions, Evaluating effectiveness of implemented programs, and Documenting resident progress towards identified goals.
Additionally, the Recreational Therapist/Technician may be responsible to occasionally assist with other needful tasks, as assigned by the Recreational Therapy Director.
Qualifications
Must receive (or be eligible to receive within 6 mo. of hire) and maintain CTRS (or TRT) certification
Must receive (or be eligible to receive within 6 mo. of hire) and maintain TRS (or TRT) licensure
CPR Certification offered, may be obtained upon hire
Food Handler’s Permit required, may be obtained upon hire

Responsibilities
Provide Therapeutic Recreation assessments
Document and evaluate the patient's response/outcomes to the plan in the patient's medical records

Serve as a member of committees as an appointed representative of rehabilitation services
Provide treatment within the Treatment Malls with access to the following resources to support programming; full-size gym, wellness centers, state-operated library, art/craft rooms, wood shop, bowling alley, and healing gardens. Inclusive of multiple rooms that offer resources to support technology use when facilitating groups
Patients may also be assessed to determine readiness for Community Reintegration, participate in nature walks on campus, dock fishing at West Medical Lake, and attend hospital café to teach and practice community skills
Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation Program
Applicants must hold CTRS Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
Must register with the Washington State Department of Health as a Recreation Therapist
Ability to obtain WA State Food Handler’s Card within 14 days of employment
