The Utah Recreation Therapy Association believes in the values of diversity and inclusion. We affirm our commitment to recognizing and addressing all forms of racism and ethnic oppression. As an anti-racist organization we will purposefully identify, discuss, and challenge issues of race and color and the impacts they have on the organization, its systems, and its members.

• We will gather and inform members of resources that address anti-racism and bias for themselves as well as on how to incorporate the topic of anti-racism into the profession.

• We are committed to continual discussions and education regarding anti-racism at annual conferences and other workshops throughout the year.

• We will start a membership reading program with books that address the issue of anti-racism. Along with that, we will have virtual gatherings to discuss what we learned and how to apply the knowledge gained into the profession and interventions.
