Part Time Web Director - Utah Recreation Therapy Association

The Web Director is a crucial member of the leadership team at the Utah Recreation Therapy Association. This position has evolved from a volunteer position to a part time position. The Web Director is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all business as it relates to technology and URTA’s online presence. This position will be probationary until successful completion of training, approximately April 2021. Resignations require at least a three month notice.

The selected candidate will be training with our current Web Director on the normal job duties as well as our 2021 Virtual Conference.

Pay will start at $10.00 an hour during the training period, and $15.00 an hour after training is completed.

Expect to work approximately 20-30 hours during most months (more hours need approval by Executive Director).

Qualifications

  • Competency or willingness to become competent in the following software/hardware:

    • Square and Venmo.

    • Google Sites, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Gmail, Google, Google Domains, Google Meet, Google Groups, and other G Suite software.

    • Google Chrome, Google Domains, Google Voice, Google Calendar, Google Photos and Google Keep.

    • Slack.

    • Facebook Page and Group management.

    • Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter.

    • Legacy access to Box, Eventbrite, LinkedIn, and Wordpress.com

    • Microsoft Surface Pro/Windows 10.

    • iPad/iOS.

  • Competency or willingness to develop the following skills:

    • Email blasting.

    • Website embedding.

    • Spreadsheet formatting.

    • Form building.

    • Sending confirmation emails and other timely messages.

    • Organizational access to communication and collaboration software.

    • Admin controls.

  • Willingness to be on call during Conference and other event planning.

  • CTRS, and/or MTRS, and/or TRS, and/or TRT, and/or current member of URTA.

Full Time Recreational Therapist - Utah State Hospital

As a Recreational Therapist at the Utah State Hospital, you will prepare and recommend therapeutic, leisure, and diversionary recreation activities for patients residing at this facility.


Principle Duties

  • Performs recreational therapy assessments

  • Implements recreational therapy programs for individual patients

  • Prepares and recommends therapeutic recreation activities

  • Develop new ideas and contribute to USH recreational programs

  • Provide high quality recreation therapy groups

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has professional experience working with mentally ill patients/clients.

  • Has professional work experience in a direct patient care setting for mentally ill patients or clients.

  • Must be licensed as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) or Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS) with the UTAH Division of Occupational Professional Licensing (DOPL)

Full Time Recreational Therapist - Jail Based Competency Unit

As a Recreational Therapist at the Jail Based Competency Restoration Unit and Outreach Program at the Salt Lake County Jail. You will prepare and recommend therapeutic, leisure, and diversionary recreation activities for the patient Forensic program, residing at this facility.

The Jail Based Competency Restoration Unit and Outreach Program position is affiliated with the Utah State Hospital but the individual will work on site at the Salt Lake County Jail.

  • Implements recreational therapy programs for individual patients

  • Prepares and recommends therapeutic recreation activities

  • Develop new ideas and contribute to recreational programs

  • Provide high quality recreation therapy groups

  • Is comfortable working with inmates in a jail setting.
